A year since he unveiled his impressive live set at Victoria Park in his first ever headline outdoor show, Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 returned to Hackney this weekend for the BBC Hackney Weekender.

Those that were lucky enough to catch the Canadian electro/house producer in action will have seen that his stage show has evolved enormously from the days when he last performed at Big Weekend, three years ago.

Today also sees the mouse headed DJ unveil the animated video for 'The Veldt', the title track from his latest EP.

The video marks the first visual from deadmau5 since 2009’s “Ghosts ‘N’ Stuff', and saw him team with U.K. video production house Qudos Animations, producer Warren Green and director Dr. Manroop Takhar to depict “The Veldt” characters children Peter and Wendy amongst the lions in the virtual reality African jungle they eventually trap their parents in.

“The Veldt” appears on THE VELDT four-song EP along with remixes by Tommy Trash and Freeform Five, as well as “Failbait” featuring hip-hop icons Cypress Hill.
