Date published: 17th Apr 2011

On Friday May 6th, 44 presents a special event to generate funds for the amazing work that is being carried out by the British Red Cross in Japan. Topping the bill is legendary electronic producer A Guy Called Gerald.

As a founding member of 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald is credited as one of the originators of house music. His classic track 'Voodoo Ray' sounds as unique and exciting today as it did when released in 1988. Gerald's musical experiments also lay the groundwork for Jungle with his album released in 1992 being rated a template for what was to come. He continues to be a driving force in electronic and went on to release his 9th artist album last year.
