808 State join Happy Mondays at Victoria Warehouse

Having formed back in 1987 and taking their name from the Roland TR-808 drum machine and their common state of mind,  808 State created a milestone for UK electronica when they released the enigmatic 'Pacific State'. The seminal track became an end-of-night anthem at the Haçienda and broke out of the dance underground when it was picked up by daytime Radio 1.

Whilst they  were hugely influentially at the height of the rave era, the band's prominence in  alternative electronica goes deeper than that, with original band members Graham Massey, Martin Price and Gerald Simpson going on to successful, individual careers. Massey composed the score to the film 'It’s All Gone Pete Tong' and worked with Björk on her first solo album Debut and the follow-up, Post. Gerald recorded his own hit 'Voodoo Ray' and decided to pursue his own career as A Guy Called Gerald.

The trio will join iconic Manchester six-piece Happy Mondays at this rare, one-off celebration of Manchester's musical legacy.
