Music genres: Sexy/Soulful and Funky House, Electro, Old Skool UK Garage, a lil’ NICHE Bassline and a selection of Hip Hop. DJ K-LOW from sunny South East London; her background and deep raw passion for music began in K’s school days in the form of poetry and expressing herself with words and transposing it into music learning to play the piano and dabbling with the sounds of the acoustic guitar, bass and the drums including singing. While at Lewisham Music College met a guy, Drew, that took the time to nurture her musical skills and introduced K’ to a whole new world - DJ’ing. Although at college, musically things never went any further than jamming, working hard and evolving her DJ’ing skills, in 1998 K invested in her own recording equipment and set of Technics and has been recording tracks and DJ’ing ever since. Unfortunately K, holds down a demanding and committed job and hasn’t yet managed to get out on the circuit and make herself known. She hopes she hasn’t lost the confidence to bounce right back and hopes it isn’t too late at 27 turning 28 for her to show everyone what she can give to the music scene. Although K’ is a true to vinyl DJ, she has recently tried her hand at CD mixing showing she can be versatile and adaptable. Just a few people have seen/heard first hand of both her musical and DJ’ing talents and with encouraging responses has been offered the opportunity to join the team at one of London’s leading Dance radio stations including to collaborate on the production side. Although it’s early days K’s excited at this promising opportunity and through www.skiddle.com wants to link up and chat to with like-minded, skillful people.
