Boxmoor Lodge your privately owned hotel and award winning restaurant, guaranteeing a warm and friendly welcome.Ideally located in the beautiful Chiltern countryside, a short distance from the M1 and M25 motorways and a few minutes' walk from the Hemel Hempstead mainline railway station that serves London Euston and Birmingham New Street.For those on business, the Maylands Avenue and Buncefield industrial estates are a ten-minute drive away.Our 25 comfortable rooms have free satellite television (including Sky Sports and movie channel), free wireless internet and an iPod docking station. Most of our rooms have views over the quiet and tranquil gardens and all our rooms have luxury bathrooms. All rooms are warm, inviting and comfortable. Ranging from good sized doubles to spacious family suites and we also have four-poster bedrooms for that special occasion. Rooms are equipped with hairdryer, iron, ironing board, trouser press and hospitality tray providing tea, coffee and biscuits. Cots are available on request. A specially designed room for disabled guests is also available at the hotel.Our award winning Conservatory Restaurant offers fine dining in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Seasonal menus use local produce offering an extensive array of contemporary and traditional English dishes. Our Head Chef, Stuart Ambury's passion for the creation of wonderful dishes is enhanced by use of fresh, local produce including Mr Waller's Aylesbury duck and Rickett's Butters fine meats. We believe that the combination of friendly and attentive table staff and excellent cuisine will provide all the ingredients for a unique and memorable dining experience. The Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday evenings from 7pm and on Sunday from noon where you can enjoy a traditional 3-course Sunday lunch. To start the day our breakfast comprises fresh fruit, cereals and of course a full English cooked to order and included in the price of your room. Please note that the restaurant is closed Sunday evenings, but a selection of sandwiches will be available.The hotel's stylish lounge is always well stocked so that guests can enjoy their favourite beverage in the bar or the lounge, where they can relax and enjoy the surroundings.For those seeking leisure activities, a sports and leisure complex, the Snow Centre for skiing and snowboarding, riding stables and a number of golf clubs are situated nearby. The hotel is also ideally located for visiting Woburn Safari park, Waddesdon Manor and Warner Bros, Studio Tour The Making of Harry Potter.The hotel is located in a 'Designated New Town' which means that it was completely redesigned and rebuilt after World War 2 though the 'Old Town' as affectionately referred to by residents is still standing. In the town, there is a plethora of things guests to the hotel can do such as The Snow Centre offering indoor skiing and snowboarding on a 160m main slope with perfect conditions all year around. For those looking for something a little slower, Little Hay and Shendish Manor both have 18 or 9 hole Golf courses with 'pitch and putt' and Little Hay also offers tuition.Guests are in luck too as Hemel is located on the central routes of several different travelling methods, be it train, motorway and with places like London only 25 miles away, even more attraction options open up. Windsor Castle is 21miles away to the South, Whipsnade zoo is only 8miles away to the North and for guests looking for a bit of history outside of Hemel Hempstead, the Roman City of St Albans is only minutes away to the east and Warner Bros.
