Sprechen in association with Hallé St Peter's presents an evening of electronic, experimental 'medical grade music' courtesy of The Utopia Strong held in one of Manchester's most beautiful locations.
The semi-modular trio make a long overdue return to Manchester with their unique sound of medical grade music for the the visionary music head. Compromising of experimental/psychedelic musician (& current front man in Gong!) Kavus Torabi along with the most successful professional Snooker player of the 1980s and now modular synth wizard & eclectic DJ, Steve Davis + multi instrumentalist and luthier Michael York. They have fused Modular Synthesisers with conventional and traditional instruments to create a weird and joyous celebration of all that is good about left field psychedelic music.
Their recent album Doperider which dropped late last year and is touted as "arguably their trippiest yet" has seen the band continue to evolve and bend the blends of modular and analogue synths with various other instrumentation which takes the listener down a variety of auditory pathways previously unexplored, and further into the realms of more surrealistic visions.
Support on the night from the krautrock-electronic hybrid Lines Of Silence
Suitable psychedelic tinged pickings will be selected & played around the bands on the night by Sprechen Cinema DJs Chris Massey & Richie V (Supernature).
