Hi jody, we are nearing the end of 2011 what have been your highlights?

On a personal level, the birth of our second child , Charlie Joseph !!

On a professional level , the birth of my first solo album ( title withheld .. )

You have a new solo album coming out soon, can you give us some insight into how you go about putting it together?

There was no conscious decision to write an album, it just dawned on me after tinkering away for a couple of years that I had a bunch of tracks that seemed quite coherent . My manager at that time was temporarily hospitalised, so I though it best to knuckle down get this project finished and give him a nice surprise upon his recovery !

What are the stand-out tracks from the album?

My personal fav's are the vocal tracks , but I've always been a sucker for a good old warble.. " How you make me smile " featuring Pete Josef will probably be the first single, followed by " Just 1 More " which was initially called My Love before I had to remove the vocal sample and replace it with an original ( Pete again .. )

What present(s) are you hoping for for Xmas?

An Air Swimmers Shark !! http://airswimmers.com Not sure how my daughter would react to it though..

You have done a fair amount of travelling this year, what do you most like and most hate about being on the road?

I love meeting likeminded people , rocking clubs and generally getting on a party vibe. I hate missing my family and being so tired you feel on the edge of sanity.

What is your favourite piece of kit - new or old?

Favourite synth has to be the Jupiter 8, its just a classic bit of kit and is almost as old as me...

Your regular Intensified, Way out There and Proton mixes on Soundcloud are always well received, how do you go about choosing the tracks and putting the mixes together?

Thanks ! I get sent a shit load of music from artists, friends and promo companies so its really just a matter of selecting the gems and piecing them together like a jigsaw. I also shop on beatport occasionally ;) Ableton live is obviously the software of choice, alongside mixed in key which really speeds things up ( though not essential as I am a trained musician lol )

Apart from Twisted Audio - what has been you favourite gig of the year?

Haha naturally ! Well , apart from this, It would have to be either Decks in the city ( Budapest ) or Rise ( Ufa-Russia ). Then again , Basic for sleepy&boo in NYC is always a big one !

What would be the ultimate club you would like to play at?

Id really love to play at Warung in Brazil, hopefully sometime soon ..

What are you looking forward to next year? Anything planned you can tell us about ?

Touring the album and just writing loads of new material, plus getting back on the Wayoutwest tip with Nick !

This will be the third time you have played for Twisted Audio, can you tell us what you have in store and what you are most looking forward to?

4th actually !! , and its also my birthday weekend so gonna be a biggie ! Plus will be the first time my wife has been out since the birth of our 2nd child , so I hope she doesn't peak too early lol.. But yea, Im just gonna drop some serious tunes and not do any trainwrecks this time lol ( dodgy CDJ's tsk tsk .. )

Boats or clubs, discuss?

Boats because you have a captive audience and also they start earlier so more time to partay !!!

Thanks Jody, see you on the boat
