The Maccabees go Wild on Teesside

Indie maestros The Maccabees will be stopping off at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Wednesday 7 March as they head out on tour to promote their third album, Given to the Wild.

Following main stage slots at Reading and Leeds Festivals, and a string of sell-out shows in 2009 the band returned in October 2011 with an intimate run of shows to showcase their new material. Their trip to Middlesbrough Town Hall is part of the second leg of the major headline UK tour, after initial dates in January, and is the bands first visit to the venue.

Since the release of The Maccabees debut album, Colour It In, in 2007 the band has gone from strength to strength. Their rise to prominence continued with the critically acclaimed Wall of Arms and a string of sell out tours and major festival appearances followed.

Taking sonic inspiration from a disparate collection of musical peers such as The Stone Roses, Kate Bush and David Bowie, Given To The Wild finds the band ascending to new heights, placing them amongst the big hitters in the UK music scene.

Critical acclaim is already flooding in with The Clash Magazine stating They have, quite possibly, delivered the album that will send them stratospheric. And NME seem to agree, The Maccabees are entering the prime of their musical lives.

The band will be performing new tracks from Given to the Wild, including the first single to be taken from the LP Pelican, as well as hits Toothpaste Kisses, About Your Dress, Love You Better and Can You Give It? This is a gig not to be missed and advanced booking is highly recommended.
