One of the UK’s most celebrated new producers, and a real party starter of a DJ to boot, Krystal Klear arrives at Shipping Forecast on Saturday March 23rd, as part of another Zutekh basement party.

Originally from Dublin, the origins of Krystal Klear’s tastes lie in the worlds of punk rock and hardcore. And whilst ‘eclectic’ is an oft-quoted term in DJ press, his musical hertiage does become slightly more astounding when you consider that Krystal Klear has since been roundly celebrated by the likes of Damn Funk, James Pants, Hudson Mohawke, and other pariahs of boogie. A fluid and vibrant DJ, Krystal Klear has been busy all over these past few months, including several very well received appearances at Manchester’s Warehouse Project, whilst also holding down his residency at the city’s celebrated Hoya Hoya club.
Beyond this, Krystal Klear’s love of everything from classic funk to modern house is encompassed in his increasingly prolific productions, from a similarly eclectic range of labels including Cooly G’s Dub Organizer, All City and Madtech, who are behind his latest release featuring the vocals of Jenna G, ‘More Attention’. A tune that you can imagine hearing from no end of festival tents all summer long, it’s also indebted to Klear’s deep love of US house and garage, swimming with soul through a pop hook. As such, it’s been played by everyone from Annie Mac and Benji B, gaining him a bigger following still. The latter playing the fantastic ‘Tried For Your Love’ for six running weeks on his show probably helped a fair bit too...
A similar bridge between crowd pleasing and crate digging can be found in his DJ sets, which rip through Boogie, New Jack Swing, Instru Hip-Hop and House, whilst also taking in a few exclusives from some of the best in UK dancefloor culture - many of whom are of course, big fans of the man himself.
Promoters Zutekh remain one of the biggest but truest underground clubbing institutions in the North, carefully selecting some of the most acclaimed names under their ethos of “a party for people who know how to”, and their return to the Shipping Forecast is bound to convert a few more.
As promoters with a DJ roster who are perfectly on point to wind up and down from the main event, Krystal Klear will be supported on the night by GRRD/LLUMA and Zutekh’s own DJs.
