Marking the end of what's been a monumental 10th anniversary year for the club brand, the Boxing Night event is all set to be one of Liverpool's biggest Christmas parties at one of the city's most impressive new venues.
Topping the bill is Circus favourite Loco Dice. Quite simply, the man is a machine. Year after year he’s the DJ that everyone wants a piece of, an exponent of house and techno poised perfectly on one telling characteristic: the bass line. This summer saw him slay Ibiza once again; destroying the Amnesia terrace for Cocoon on a weekly basis and performing legendary back to back sets with Carl Cox at Space.
Another man who the Circus faithful cherish is Jamie Jones. His injection of warmth into house has seen him patent a sound that has been spearheaded by his Hot Creations record label and even managed to cross over into the UK Top 40 singles chart with ‘Benediction’. Add to this Paradise, his hugely successful promotional project at DC-10 which has shown there is more to the club than Mondays this summer, and it’s not difficult to understand his increased pedigree.
Yousef will naturally be a huge component of the event after an equally as productive 2013, his recent Essential Mix joining the superbly received second album ‘A Product of Your Environment’ as part of a year that has continued to blossom to its end. Yousef’s brilliant deep house number from his album, Beg, remixed by Hotsince82, is currently no.1 in the Beatport Deephouse chart, and no.3 overall. He remains the musical spearhead for Circus, and with residencies now added in London and New York as well as a relentless global touring schedule, he will of course be at the forefront of his own party, re-housed in the spectacular main room of the Camp and Furnace.
Heidi is also back with her Jackathon; she is rapidly becoming one of the most scintillating stars of the Circus family after a blistering bank holiday workout in June. This time she is inviting Scuba to join her for his Liverpool debut. His ‘Personality’ opus is reflective of a man completely at ease with the depth and variety of house, techno and bass music, and his acidic rumble is sure to excite and entertain in equal measures. Founder of Hotflush, the imprint which has nurtured epoch-breaking acts including Joy Orbison, Mount Kimbie, Pangaea and Loefah, Scuba also brings his own dynamic sound to Circus for Boxing Day.
Circus residents Lewis Boardman and Scott Lewis round off the bill.
