Hollywood star heads to Town Hall

A Grammy award winning, Hollywood starlet is heading to Teesside for a rare and intimate outing. Americana songbird Shelby Lynne will be bring her solo acoustic tour to Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt on Thursday 23 February, one of only 4 UK dates.

Lynne started out in the music industry in 1989 but didnt make her real breakthrough until 10 years later with the release of I Am Shelby Lynne, the success of the record lead to her Grammy triumph, winning Best New Artist, in 2001.

She has gone on to release a stream of critically acclaimed LPs, including a Dusty Springfield tribute and two Top 10s Love, Shelby and Identity Crisis. Now touring with her latest release Revelation Road, on which she wrote and played all of the music for, Lynne continues to be a prolific and well-respected artist across the globe.

Not just a singing sensation, Lynne has also cut her cloth as an actress making her acting debut in the Oscar winning Johnny Cash bio Walk The Line, as Cashs mother.

In her first trip to Middlesbrough Town Hall, and her only Northern date on the tour, Shelby will perform tracks from her latest album, as well as a smattering of old favourites.

This is a rare opportunity to see one of Americas best-loved talents, up close and personal.
