Bring in 2012 at The Warehouse with Derrick Carter, Jesse Rose and Matt Tolfrey

2012 kicks off in fine style at The Warehouse, with a New Year's Day party headlined by Chicago legend Derrick Carter. 

The Classics boss and Chicago house stalwart is joined by Matt Tolfrey and Jesse Rose for this special Arkitekt shindig at legendary Leeds venue The Warehouse.   

Where to start with Derrick Carter… Part of Chicago’s second wave of house DJs, the man has done as much for jacking 4/4 as anyone in the scene today.  As well as his own boompty productions and those released on his recently revived, seminal label Classic, he spins across the globe, has mixed it up fro fabric and is a big lover of his pet dogs. A true legend.

Jesse Rose is the man behind Front Room Recordings but also Made to Play – one of the most du jour electronic labels of our times, with releases from the likes of Oliver $, Riva Starr and Round Table Knights all being bit hits.  The man himself produces and remixes, too, and DJs everywhere from Fabric to Watergate, Berlin where crowds are treated to his learned blend of off kilter house, tech and electro sounds.

The boss of Leftroom Records and its many off shoots, Matt Tolfrey has dropped killer sets at WMC, DEMF, out in Ibiza and at various cool clubs around Europe once again this year. Often playing with the label mates he so skilfully picks out (from Laura Jones to Waifs & Strays), his tech house and freaky late-night minimal is right on point, whether it be in one of his sets or own studio creations.

Finally, the second Loft room will be hosted by local Leeds label Love Not Money with  house spinners Matt Fear, Luke Pompey, Ali Scott, Alcatraz Harry, James Winter, Sam Wallace and Alex Anda.

The Warehouse is a raw but tidy space that boats two rooms, plenty of bars, a large outdoor smoking area and of course killer sonics.  It’s the perfect space for a house party such as this and will mark a fine start to 2012.
