Coldplay confirm London gig

28th Apr 2008

People wondering what's on in London will be excited to hear Coldplay are gearing up to play a massive concert to promote their upcoming album.

The gig will take place on June 12th at the Brixton Academy in London and will be followed by a concert in New York's Madison Square Garden on June 16th.

Both events are designed to promote Coldplay's fourth album, Viva La Vida, which is set also set to be released on June 12th.

As a teaser, the band are offering fans the chance to download the first single from the record, Violet Hill, for free.

The track will be available from Coldplay's website from tomorrow (April 29th) and can be downloaded for free for one week.

Coldplay formed in 1998 and have become one of the most commercially successful bands of recent years.

It is believed their three previous records have sold a total of over 30 million copies.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18570169-ADNFCR
