With over 7 years experience and having played up and down the UK (plus overseas sessions in Thailand & Australia), Solilhull born Richard Yates is well known for his inspirational mixing and mind blowing taste in music. Recognised & remembered for his scratching ability, Richard originally started out as a Drum & Bass DJ back in 1997, entering & winning competitions in and around Birmingham (Pinfolds DJ Comp / 1999). Having the skills to copy the likes of the legendary DJ HYPE gained him a lot of respect in the industry and in 2000 he became resident DJ at Vinyl playground. More recently Richards musical taste and direction has changed. He is currently concentrating on mixing and mastering house music. In 2006 (one month after being featured on deephousenetwork.com) Richards latest project - GettinDeep received a chart topping 9000 downloads & tracklisting requests from a global network of listeners (including USA, Italy, Germany, France & Belgium). Also this year Richard has been linked with various local radio stations (sourceradio). He has been the warm up artist for some of the worlds most recognised djs. One of these being Charles Webster (love from sanfrancisco) at the boiler room. Here Richard played a formidable set leaving the crowd ecstatic, perfectly set up for the legendary house DJ to finish off the night. Richard is currently spending a lot of his time working on the production of his own music. Expect some exciting sounds from this up and coming young producer in the near future.
