The Star hotel is situated in the historic part of the city, in the main High Street, the hotel is close to parks, the shopping precinct and malls. We are a 20 minute walk from the bus and train stations and various local services pass directly out the front of the hotel. We are also located a short walk from the Isle of Wight Ferry Services and are conveniently located for cruises departing from Southampton.
Royalty were regular visitors to the hotel in the early 1800's. Our Victoria room commemorates a visit, in 1831, by the Duchess of Kent and then Princess Victoria.
