Unfortunately, in spite of being a non-smoking apartment, the previous occupants had ignored this and the apartment reeked of stale smoke. Even a good airing didn't clear the smell. Even worse, the smoke detector had been covered by some cloth to stop it going off. I don't blame Premier for the behaviour of their guests, but their housekeeping operation should have been much better at spotting this and clearing up the smell, especially as their non-smoking policy mandates a £20 "housekeeping fee" if occupants are found to have smoked.
In summary: nice apartment, nice location - but housekeeping leaves something to be desired.
