The Pen and Pencil sits on the corner of Hilton and Tariff Street in Manchester’s lively Northern Quarter. Our bar and eatery is open seven days a week from 10am ’til late. We take our name and inspiration from the infamous mid-20th Century bar on East 45th Street in New York’s ‘Steak Row’ which was popular with newspaper journalists and ad men – the original ‘Mad Men’. Need something tasty to get your creative juices going? We serve food all day; our day time menu is available between 10am and 5pm and the supper menu is served from 5pm until 9pm. Think eggs done a million ways, tasty sandwiches and healthy salads in the daytime. Enjoy dishes like Surf n Turf, Jambalaya and New York strip steak in the evenings. Feeling thirsty? We offer some delicious home made smoothies including the Triple Berry Cleanser and You’ve Met Your Matcha. We also have a fantastic selection of beers, wines and spirits along with our own bespoke cocktail list. Looking for a late night party? Our team of resident DJs are on hand on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to get the party started every weekend. Plus we offer private hire for networking meetings, private parties and launch events.
