I had attended to a
ccompany some friends and didn't know much about the band or the venue.  The eagle is a genuine good old fashioned pub which was great on its own but to then see what a great venue was out the back was a real surprise. You won't find anything more intimate or atmospheric. You are pretty much in touching distance of the stage where ever you stand, apart from the balcony. The stage itself was so full of equipment it was difficult to see where the bands would stand so extra praise to all of the band members for keeping out of each other's way. However the most important thing was the music. First up was a local band called Trip. A high energy three piece with some really original songs a great vocalist and a lead guitarist who had more energy than should be allowed on such a small stage and you wouldn't think was possible. Unfortunately the drum kit was tucked out of sight but im looking forward to their future releases. Then Kanadia strolled on.. set up their own equipment and then simply blew everyone away. The driving drum beat was so solid and tight with great bass riffs. The extra dimension provided by the keyboards all combined perfectly with the guitar skills and vocals of the singer. I have never seen such technical ability live and close up. To say I was impressed is an understatement.  I was listening to them for all of my 2 hour drive home and realised how good their live music is. My friends had flown over from Barcelona just to see Kanadia and now I know why. Can't wait to hear more from both bands and if you get a chance to see them then take it.
