Boogietown’s return to Apps Court in the summer of 2025 has just gotten more exciting, as R&B legend Billy Ocean is unveiled as the festival’s first headliner.

Next year’s edition will take place on Saturday 12th July at Apps Court in Surrey, where four stages and 20,000 people come together for a glorious day of music.

Review of Boogietown 2024

Thoroughly enjoyed attending Boogietown 2025 , I've even booked my tick*ts for Boogietown 2026. The only thing I would say is that this year food was not allowed in, unlike last year.  We were able to bring in a small picnic and we still ate from the stalls.  The Food Outlets were very similar:  Burgers, chips, pizzas, noodles and that's not always what I want to eat on a sunny summer evening.

The worst part was in the VIP section there were too many people crammed in, you couldnât put your chairs at the back part the VIP area. Not enough shade areas. Although they had improved on the number of seating areas there still wasnât enough. Preferred it as a two day event. 

Review of Boogietown | Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, Soul II Soul & more

Boogietown was a fantastic day out and have recommended 2026 to my friends. The music acts were great although I feel there is room for improvement with the food an drinks stands and their prices

Fabulous lineup and good value for money. If you're traveling any distance I would recommend staying at one of the nearest hotels because ubers to hotels further away after Boogie Town finishes at night are very expensive! The choice of food trucks was fairly good: Italian meatballs, Greek meze or pizzas, however most of them ran out of food at 9pm which was really disappointing when you are hungry and the queues were very long,  so long you kinda gave up in the end. So next year's boogie Town please have more variety of food so that there's less and shorter queues at each one, such as other food options like hot dogs, veggie salad or meat wraps like jerk chicken BBQ chicken and salad, vegetarian food stall, wood fired pizza truck with topping options, Deli baguettes, Noodle bar,  salad bars, fruit bars, especially as there are growing number of people with food allergies, diabetes, gluten free, Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, Coeliac disease... it makes sense to cater for those people with natural Whole Foods, Salads, Vegetables, Fruits etc. I speak from experience because there was not a lot there that I could actually eat I ended up queuing for the Greek bar because it had some salad but they all seem to want to put everything with chips so I ended up having a salad wrap and a bottle of water. I would have liked to be able to purchase VIP tick*ts for a sectioned off area with a couple of food trucks, tables, chairs, 4 posh regularly cleaned men's and women's toilets, a program included and good seating with view of stage. They have this as an upsell option at Guilfest, so we don't need to bring our camping chairs because they are quite heavy especially because I've got mobility problems and it's difficult to carry a chair along with a walking stick and bag. It was difficult to find disabled access area into BoogieTown. My  uber was only allowed to stop at a main entrance Gate 1 and it's a fair old walk to the Tick*t Gate where they check your tick*t and you go in. There should be som**hing to help disabled and less mobile people get in quicker, like a fast track where we bring proof of disability or PIP letter, so we don't have to stand outside for long with the risk of our legs collapsing, getting hot and stressed, needing toilet, being sick from all the anxiety, ... It is very difficult for disabled people there are no clear entrance queue lines and no clear signage or sections to disabled queue entrance it was just a mass bundle of everybody pushing in. Once in, there is nobody to help us get to the disabled viewing area or help us carry anything, or, any disabled access queues for the food trucks because I would never be able to stand in a long line for over an hour so I wasn't able to eat anything in the evening because I couldn't do the queuing. Same for the drinks areas. Would be handy if we were given a disabled access WhatsApp or internet link so we could order from one of the food trucks and it could be delivered to us at the disabled viewing area. Disabled toilets by the viewing area we're really handy. It would be handy if all local Festival organizers got together to discuss opportunities for upselling such as VIP tick*ts,  BoogieTown Festival merchandise; like t-shirts and programs,  and festival stalls selling things like colourful boho festival clothing & jewellery, hats, sandals,  sunscreen, sunglasses, buck*t hats,  umbrellas/parasols, picnic blank*ts, even cool boxes, face painting, etc, as there were none at BoogieTown & with the 34° temperature people were wanting to buy umbrellas, sunscreen, hats and sunglasses but alas none were available as there were no merchandise stalls.  Various festivals planners can improve their festivals by liaise with other festival planners including the planning for disabled people to make life a bit easier by the time I had queued I was totally exhausted, sweating and very upset and emotional as it was 34° outside and people were pushing and didn't really care about disabled people in the queue. There are some fast track practical processes that other festivals do which are good which could be done at BoogieTown . I think another popular Festival in Guildford allow a hundred or so VIP tick*ts for the VIP area and then we have our own posh toilets regularly cleaned and always with hand wash paper towels and toilet paper never running boogie Town the disabled toilets were blocked and not cleaned regularly so that was a bit disappointing), In the VIP area we also had  2 X food trucks and bar and loads of tables and chairs just for us with a great view of the stage,  and people are happy to pay upgrade for that. I loved the festival and I stayed fairly close by in a hotel for the night but I do think the organisation, processes and practical tips could improve lives of disabled people who are already disadvantaged and want to be able to see the music they love without such huge struggles. Also BoogieTown had many missed opportunities for upselling to vip and festival clothing stalls etc..So this review is also feedback really. But I  did really enjoy the music. Great choice. Next year can we have Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder,  the Fatback Band, Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Hot Chocolate, Sugarhill Gang, Diana Ross, Four Tops, Musical Youth, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson, Aswad, Shaggy, Jeff Lynn's ELO, Duran Duran & Sting. (I know 4 of these might be controversial and not necessarily fit into boogie funk soul but neither did UB40!!) Pretty please!! Happy to pay over 2 days like Saturday and Sunday!!
