As the festival season kicks into higher gear, August is upon us, and whilst the weather hasn't been the best, the country is still abuzz with a fantastic lineup of festivals, events, and unforgettable days out. We're here to give you the scoop on the top events you shouldn't miss on Skiddle this month.

With August being the peak of the season, we can't help but shine a spotlight on the numerous festivals still offering tickets. Moovin Festival

When: Friday 25th - Sunday 27th August 2023

Where: Whitebottom Farm in Stockport

Moovin is perfect for those who love lots of different genres, with house, drum and bass, soul, funk, and reggae artists making up the lineup.

There are both established artists and up-and-comers on the lineup including Craig Charles, Mr Scruff, Children of Zeus, Goldie (live), China Lilly, Sindysman, Ayahara, and loads more.

You can secure weekend tickets or day tickets to enjoy Moovin, a fest known for its wholesome, chilled-out vibes.

Groovebox x Muzak

When: Sunday 27th August 2023

Where: The Swan in Mansfield

Dance events brand Muzak has teamed up with Groovebox (yep, the guys behind Groovebox Festival) to give us the bank holiday weekend of our dreams! 

On this lineup for this house, deep house, and tech house party, we've got Roger Sanchez, one of the best DJs of all time. Joining him is rapidly-rising Irish superstars Belters Only, as well as Jess Bays, Adrianna, and more. 

Booming on from midday to 11 pm, this’ll be lush.

One Night at the Olympia with Jake Bugg

When: Thursday 24th August 2023

Where: Eventim Olympia in Liverpool

One of the UK's most loved singer-songwriters, Jake Bugg, has announced a special ‘One Night At The Olympia’ show in Liverpool on 24 August, for a gig set to make you feel like you've just been hit by a lightning bolt. 

Jake will be playing two sets on the night, one with a full live band and one acoustic, playing a series of his greatest hits with a string section and choir. There will also be an array of guest appearances throughout the night. Basically, if you're a fan of Jake's tunes, this is one you simply can't miss.

Noughty 90's On The Pier - Hastings Festival

When: Saturday 12th August 2023

Where: Hastings Pier in Hastings

“Baby, you're all that I want. When you're lying here in my arms…” If you’re the kind to regularly revisit those throwback bangers, oh, we've got a treat for you!

Take a trip down memory lane at Noughty 90's On The Pier, with some of your favourite nostalgic artists. On the bill for this one, there’s N-TranceDJ Luck & MC NeatDJ SammyPhats & SmallLivin' JoyTechnotronic, and so many more. 

Going down in August, when summer’s in full swing, there’ll be a food court, retro drinks, and more 00s and 90s throwback surprises.

Dan Nightingale's 'SPECIAL' Tour Show - Chester

When: Thursday 31st August 2023

Where: St Marys Creative Space in Chester

Dan Nightingale is a vastly experienced comic, and host of the award-nominated Have A Word podcast, whose sharp wit, ability to find humour in everyday situations, and penchant for hilarious storytelling make him one of the best, and to be honest most underappreciated, comics in the game right now.

If you're looking for a night of laughter and fun, then don't miss Dan Nightingale's Special tour show at St Marys Creative Space in Chester. Vengaboys (90s vs 00s Festival)

When: Sunday 27th August 2023

Where: Kasbah in Coventry

The Vengabus is coming to Coventry! Join them for the ultimate cheesy Bank Holiday Sunday on the 27th of August as the incredible team at Kasbah bring you a huge all-day party with the biggest 90s & 00’s pop acts from across the world!

Vengaboys, Ultrabeat, N-Trance, Eric Martin, and Big Brovaz & Booty make up the lineup, so get your cheesiest grin on, put on the neon lycra, and get yourself down to boogie and sing along to some of the classic pop acts of their day, get on it!

High Hoops Pride Weekend w/ Roza Terenzi, D Tiffany, Cormac

When: Saturday 26th - Sunday 28th August 2023

Where: The White Hotel in Salford

High Hoops is a queer run "sweat-fest" and they’re throwing two huge Pride weekend parties at one of the best clubs in the area

If you haven’t been to The White Hotel before, get ready to be amazed. Originally a car repair shop, it now showcases the weirder side of club music. With its bizarre characteristics, unassuming exterior, and impeccable vibes, it really is unique. 

The music policy for the event is diverse, showcasing house, techno, disco, electronic, and acid house over the weekend. Saturday sees Roza Terenzi b2b D. TiffanyCormac, and Fastlove b2b k.h0lle. And Sunday sees Marie Malarie, Seb Odyssey, and a special guest TBA.

It’s going to be a belter.

Festival Republic Presents N-Dubz plus Venbee

When: Friday 11th August 2023

Where: Gunnersbury Park in London

Hip-hop and grime throwback faves N-Dubz are coming to Londons Gunnersbury on Friday 11th August 2023 as part of their first UK summer tour in eleven years. 

The trio behind all our favourite throwback anthems such as I Need You, No Regrets and Number 1 with Tinchy Stryder, are headlining the open-air London venue this summer after reforming earlier this year with support from Venbee.

Absolute 2 | Live Rap Battles

When: Saturday 19th August 2023

Where: The Racket Space in Dublin

If you're a fan of rap battles like Don't Flop, or maybe you just love the film 8-Mile, then don't worry as this epic night of Rap Battles  looks right up your street. Premier Battles, the leading brand of UK & Irish Battle Rap, returns to Dublin for their biggest card in the country.

Absolute 2 will see Belfast's Vizual take on Dublin's Rapthor for the first-ever Irish Title Match, crowing one as the Irish Champion. Basically, if you're into rap battles in Ireland, there's few better events all year.

Social Eats Food & Music Festival Bromsgrove

When: Saturday 26th August 2023

Where: Bromsgrove Rugby Football Club in Bromsgrove

Bringing you the joys of life to one event. The best UK tribute bands whilst diving into indulgent street food accompanied by hand-crafted cocktails, it's going to be a day of the purest fun, with the best vibes and the tastiest grub. 

From Queen to Elton John to Tom Jones to Dua Lipa, the lineup is a Glastonbury-level lineup of tributes. If you live local and are looking for something to do on the bank holiday weekend, look no further than this lovely get-together!
