First time attending Damnation Festival in Manchester. Have attended previous Damnation Festivals in Leeds though. Was really impressed with the scale of the festival, the space & the relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

The venue was clearly laid out and not so difficult to get lost in. I barely recall any technical difficulties - in fact counter to that there were some incredible light displays and graphic displays throughout the weekend even on non headliner shows. I also think whoever that guy was who jumped on the microphone chord at coilgun every time the singer went rouge needs an actual gold medal. He was fully on it every time and probably saved a lot of necks during that show! Also from my viewpoint the security tackled the heavy crowd surfing sets with smiles and appropriate levels of caution. 
I saw 2 people collapse: both times things were handled very orderly and genuinely I was impressed overall. Incredible lineup of bands. My only gripe is that there was no gap between sets... However it wasn't really a problem, it's just the only one I could call to mind! 
Oh, and that there were no ear plugs behind the bar and I couldn't understand that the cloakroom was basically out nearly by the exit for the longest time - but again, that's just me being a special head!

Very great independent UK metal festival. Big thanks to Gav and all the crew for their hard work.
