The atmosphere was mainly friendly but it was very busy and hard to get around at times and some people weren't very friendly when you asked them if you could get by. | ||||||||||||||

I lost every part of my fancy dress I went in, and lost my wallet. But what I DO remember was the music was amazing and so was the atmosphere! Often one of the highlights of the year, this is when crasher goes festive and returns to its routes. Whilst not the true trance feast of years gone by still a strong line up for a decent party, plus a first chance to check out the Gatecrasher Birmingham Venue. On arrival and check out great venue and average drinks prices mean the night starts good, line ups spread and as a preference for all things Trance find myself taking up residence in the back room for Jules & JFK who both play solid sets with the usual Classics dropped in by the later. This meaning that I totally missed the headlining act Mr Luke in the main room so would read other reviews for his set, other than to so passing through whilst he was on the room was packed and you could feel a lift in the atmosphere. I returned to the main room at the start of Paul Kelliw which personal was my set of night. After that on came Eddie to do his thing from my point of view one of his best this year (about the 15th time this year Ive seen him (fan yes!!!!)). Whilst closing duties went to Dash, This was probably were my biggest grumble sits. What was potentially the strongest Trance DJ on the line-up, why o why was he given just over 30 minutes? Whilst crasher events past and even the Gods down the road close at 6am the 5am finish and short set for me spilt the night. To be fair this is no reflection on Dash himself as I have since enjoyed him at Full on Ferry. Whilst I have previously enjoyed longer, faster harder white parties under the direction of Crasher/Gatecrasher this was probably the best way of spending Boxing Day, I enjoyed the venue and the sound system and am sure I will visit the club again in the future. | ||||||||||||||

The music was awesome, the venue was brill it was my first time at Gatecrasher Birmingham and i was very impressed! The only let down was that we paid for a VIP ticket and didnt get anything like what we were led to believe!! We ended up having to stand in 2 separate ques because we were told once we got to the front of the one marked VIP it wasnt the correct one for mobile tickets!! Then when we got in the only thing we got was a pokey little separate area with a bar and that was nowhere near the DJ booth. We were led to believe we would have access to the balcony that overlooks the dancefloor!! I wouldnt bother with VIP again but still a fantastic night!! | ||||||||||||||

Can't have been off the dance floor for more than 10 minutes in the whole 6 hours. Fantastic music, brilliant atmosphere, up for it crowd. The only downside is the venue is a maze of corridors, very very disorientating when you are off your head!!! | ||||||||||||||

 chedup Offline Points:764 Posts: 41 | Morillo + others @ Gatecrasher Overall rating: This is the first time I had been to Gatecrasher @ Birmingham and I was quite impressed with the club overall. The queue for VIP was twice as long as the normal queue to get in, so I was thankful I didn't opt for the VIP tickets! No queuing for cloakroom, toilets or for drinks, everything was a speedy process!! Lots of rooms to cater for different music tastes on the night. I watched the Spin DJ's at the beginning, and thoroughly enjoyed the little chappy playing on percussion!! Moved onto watch Erick at around 1.30 am, and his energy throughout the night was non-stop!! He played a nice mix of classic house to a few jumpier house numbers to please most of the crowd. The club was decked out with full Pacha decor which added a nice touch to the evening. I would describe it as a 'Super-Club' and if your after a intimate gig with your favourite DJ, this isn't the club for you. The atmosphere was friendly but most people seemed to keep themselves to themselves, so for me it lacked the atmosphere of a smaller club. Overall a good evening with great music. | ||||||||||||||

Iv been waiting a long to see him but i actually wished i never bothered, his mixing wasnt the best and it just seemed like he just popped a CD on!! He looked WELL scruffy aswell!! eliza Offline Points:16 Posts: 1 | Faithless, Gatecrasher Gatecrasher looks plush but once in there was rather humdrum, more mainstream than I\'d imagined but that\'s Broad St for you. Cloakroom was shut by 12 therefore we were extremely hot as we had coats and nowhere to put them! Faithless had great presence and tunes...crowd were friendly but some were quite wiffy and quite out of it. | ||||||||||||||
