About

Explore the nuanced facets of ADHD manifestation in women and gain valuable insights on managing neurodiversity at EngineRooms Southampton with SEED Talks. Join us for an illuminating session followed by a Q+A on Wednesday 17th January 2024, from 7 pm to 11 pm.

ADHD, often hidden in girls, sees a diagnostic shift from childhood to adulthood, with 1:1 prevalence in women. Symptoms may surface during puberty, intensifying in educational and social transitions. Historically framed as a male-centric condition, ADHD now reveals a disproportionate impact on women, influenced by gender roles, hormonal fluctuations, self-doubt, self-esteem, and exhaustion. A femme perspective is crucial in ADHD conversations, empowering women with a deeper understanding and practical strategies for thriving in daily life.

Dr. Jane Sedgwick-Müller, a senior lecturer, researcher, and ADHD expert, will lead the talk. Doors open at 7 pm, with the talk commencing at 7.30 pm. Arrive early to secure a prime seat!
