About

A party to celebrate the launch of VICE VERA's debut single Tourist, which will be released across all platforms on 19th April. There will be a limited number of art prints for sale with digital download codes for Tourist, and the music video will be screened on the night as an exclusive, prior to official release.

VICE VERA is the solo project of Manchester-based musician Tamsin Middleton. Using loop pedals vocal melodies are layered with off-kilter guitars and percussive textures to create an insistent, joyous and confrontational sonic landscape.

"VICE VERA - visceral lyrics that open your eyes and give that top as fuck feeling you had when you first heard PJ Harvey." Wayne Carey for Louder than War

Support comes from

Pink Oyster

Born in the woods of New England in the USA, Pink Oyster's music reminds us that the owls are not what they seem. Her eerie folk leans towards the dark and atmospheric, while delivering playful influences like doo-wop, blues and drone.
"Dark and absorbing...a very special track" - York Calling (about "Cheekbone Queen")
"Quentin Tarantino meets Ennio Morricone" - BBC Radio Manchester (about "Control")
Back of the Brain
Universal wisdom, elemental chaos, sonic senxuality, Back of the Brain are in an open relationship with life and turn with nature’s wheel. Porto-primordial, leaning always into collective chaos, energy we all uniquely bring to sonicise our shared semi-improvisional experience; healing and provoking a kindred connectivity through our unified frequencies.
Spoken Word from Lisa Moore

Lisa Moore's work ranges from the deeply personal to the political, and from heart-breaking to hilarious. Her one woman show 'Woman on Mute' was praised as 'an exploration of what it feels to be invisible and silenced as a woman....powerful words delivered with killer conviction'

"Lisa Moore is a spoken word artist whose writing is deeply steeped in that which makes us human and ‘gets us through’ - grit, love and dark humour! Her work is full of spirit and Mancunian dialect both springs off the page and delights on stage.” – Isabelle Kenyon, Writer and Managing Director of Fly on the Wall Press 2022

"Lisa reaches every nook in your heart...the sound of her voice brings love... nothing is hidden or veiled....an absolute wonder.❤️" George Borowski  singer-songwriter 2023

Woman, Interrupted - Photography by Jane Mcgeoghan

Debut showing of raw self-portraiture by amateur photographer Jane Mcgeoghan.

Imagine waking up in your own bed, in your own home, and feeling desperately homesick. Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) plunges those affected into the depths of such despair every month.

These photographs, taken over an 18-month period, aim to capture the maelstrom faced when PMDD, perimenopause and bereavement collide, and the resilience and strength that emerge alongside.

Anne Louise Kershaw - Artwork

Anne louise Kershaw’s visual art arrives fully formed. Transcribing Synda sova’s poetics and back of the brain’s approach, they’re instinctual and deep layered with artifices journals threaded visual spells of paint artefact, passion and heart. Created by what’s to hand.

Finding land from docking sounds around for decades, hearing pained years refrained without voice reframed a celebration of agonising solitude to finally paint itself within, without permission arrived unknown and fully formed within itself to share outside visual ensembles glued into assemblage through her soul to you. finding form from artifacts and life’s debris, journaled ink and broken bones, a poetic form sonic homed it’s way through paint remained and cast our boards from storage into life. to keep herself breathing.
