For one night only, art and industry come together inside one of the city’s most significant industrial heritage sites.
On Friday 9 February 2024, Art Battle Manchester is joining forces with the Science and Industry Museum to host an after-hours evening of creative exploration (19.00 - 22.30). Art Battle Manchester XXII – A Night At The Museum, will see 10 visual artists joined by DJs, performers and pop-up food and drink stalls for an evening of artistic action.
Ten new fearless artists will take centre stage to create visual artworks during an eventinspired by the museum’s historic buildings. Illustrators, tattooists and street artists will go head-to-head in ‘the city's most energetic art event’. Each will be given a blank canvas and 30 minutes to create a masterpiece. Crowds can move round the action, watching the art come to life and ultimately deciding who will be crowned champion.
In addition to art, music, food and drink, visitors can also enjoy pop up performances and explore the museum’s Revolution Manchester and Textiles galleries after hours. Its interactive Experiment Gallery will also be open on the first floor, where people can enjoy getting hands-on with science.
Since it started in 2013, Art Battle Manchester has delivered over 20 sold-out events across the city, earning a reputation for bringing off-beat, lively events to landmark buildings, which have so far included London Road Fire Station, Albert Hall, The Royal Exchange, Victoria Baths, Escape to Freight Island, and an array of historic mills and warehouses. The next stop for the runaway train that is Art Battle Manchester is the Science and Industry Museum
