One of those slightly kooky, slightly kitsch, slightly cool, ever-so-slightly purple hangouts that the Odd crew do oh so well. And that’s exactly what they’ve done: a winning inside/outside affair with pavement drinking that flows (weather permitting) into a surprisingly spacious interior full, on CityLife’s visit, of happy smiling people eating, drinking and being generally pretty merry. A Cozy Nostra, if you will. There’s the usual top-notch ales and beers, a jukebox from KingBee Records, tasty looking staples on the menu (sharing platters around the £10 mark, substantial sarnies around £6, kids meals too), the odd little touches that gave its older sibling its title and that ever-friendly vibe that they seem to have down to a tee.
