About

Barefoot Beats: Community Connection Through Conscious Clubbing

What is Conscious Clubbing?

Conscious clubbing is an experience that blends the energy of a club with the freedom of ecstatic dance, with some added extras to entertain you like artwork and snacks. Ecstatic dancing is mindful movement guided by your body, not steps or rules. Remember how you used to dance when you were a kid?! It's fun, liberating, and a powerful way to connect with yourself and others.

What to Expect

Join us at Levenshulme Old Library on Saturday 16th May 2026 for an immersive evening:

  • You're welcome from 7:30pm, to familiarise yourself with the space and meet others
  • Event starts at 8pm (no late entry, but you can leave anytime).
  • Welcome and Arrival: A short grounding practice to connect with your body.
  • Conscious, Ecstatic Raving! DJ JBird returns with her excellent mix of world tunes and recognisable old skool banger mixes! Plus special guest Elliot Slater on the saxophone, plus live percussion that ends around 10:30pm
  • Closing: for winding down, sharing, followed by time to chat and unwind.
  • Throughout: you can relax in our cozy corner or snack room with art supplies, toys, drinks and snacks.

We invite you to come sober, to really drop into the experience and mindfully connect with yourself and others (but there won't be any monitoring of this)

What to Bring & Wear

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, bring layers to remove (it *will* get hot), and a water bottle if you like. Any extra snacks, drinks, dancing props, or art supplies that make you feel good. This is a shoes-optional event but we recommend keeping something on your feet e.g. comfortable (clean) shoes, slippers or socks to dance in

But mostly: just bring yourself

We don't sell tickets on the door! And we always sell out - so don't wait! 🏃‍➡️Grab your ticket now and come dance with us 😗💃🕺🐾 💫

We'll always do our best to rehome your ticket if you can't make it. To give us time to find someone else to dance in your place, please let us know at least 24 hours before the event. After that, we're fully immersed in getting ourselves (and the space!) ready for the magic.

FYI: Re:sell will be enabled so you can try to re-home your own ticket, if needed (there's usually a wait-list nearer the time).
