This Bank Holiday Sunday, we're bringing back a name that shaped the Venus Classics sound from the ground up. Mark Tillotson returns to the basement for the first time since Venus found its new home at Joshua Brooks, and the timing couldn't feel more right.

If you were there for those third-Saturday-of-the-month sessions at Maybrook House, you already know what Tillotson brings. Years behind the decks at Venus Classics, handpicked as part of the original resident team, building the atmosphere that gave the night its reputation. That careful selection. That feel for the room. The records that made you stay until the lights came on.

He's joined in the club room by John Steward and Mike Lee, two selectors who've carried the Venus sound forward since day one. In the bar, Dave Ellis keeps the energy moving with his trademark style.
Twenty-seven years of Manchester's vocal house heritage. Same ethos. Same standard. The basement at Joshua Brooks, Void Acoustics doing the heavy lifting, and a lineup of residents who understand exactly what this night means.

Bank Holiday Sunday sessions at Venus always feel different. No rush for work the next morning. Just the music, the people, and that energy you only get when everyone in the room is there for the same reason.

Is there a cloakroom? Yes. Items can be stored on entrance to the basement.
Is there a smoking area? Yes, outside the side of the venue on the terrace.
What's the dress code? The usual Venus attire is fine. Just make an effort. Avoid sportswear, football tops, caps, and large sporting logos.

Is this just for Venus regulars? Anyone with the right attitude is welcome. We reserve the right to refuse entry with or without a ticket. It's about every person in the room enjoying themselves and feeling safe.
