Full Circle returns to Joshua Brooks with two architects of the 2010 to 2015 deep house era under the brick arches on Princess Street. Finnebassen and Flashmob headline a night built around the sound the brand exists to protect — warm, soulful, low-slung house music made when "deep" still meant something.
Norwegian producer Finnebassen earned his place in this canon with "Touching Me" on Noir Music in 2012, a record that hit number one on Beatport's Deep House chart and pulled Pete Tong support on Radio 1. He followed it with a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in August 2014, a tier of recognition that placed him alongside the era's most respected names. His sound sits at the melodic, slightly melancholic end of the spectrum, often woven through with his own live guitar, and recent releases on Deepalma and Clepsydra confirm he is still cutting in the same lane he helped define. UK appearances from him are rare. This is one to mark down.
Flashmob, the Milan-based solo project of Alessandro Magani, arrives carrying one of the era's defining records. "Need In Me" landed on Defected in May 2012, became Pete Tong's Essential New Tune, hit number one on Traxsource and lived in Beatport's Top 100 for over three months.
Six years later he topped Beatport's overall chart for five weeks with "The Lone Brazilian" on Hot Creations, proving the touch had not faded. Recent output through his own Flashmob Records imprint, including "Stories About Music" in October 2025, keeps the catalogue current. He played the basement for Full Circle last May and clearly liked what he saw.
Joshua Brooks does this kind of music the way it was meant to be heard. Low ceilings, brick arches, Void Acoustics rig pushing weight into a room that has been part of Manchester's underground fabric for over thirty years. Slower tempos, deeper grooves, vocal hooks that actually mean something — the basement was made for it.
See you at the front.
