About

André De Freitas is a critically acclaimed, award-winning comedian known for sharp, personal comedy shaped by a global perspective. André's has amassed over 60 million views across social platforms and has performed in over 30 countries across Europe, the United States, Australia, and the Middle East.

In 2023, André debuted his first solo hour, What If, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it received multiple 5-star reviews and was featured on The Telegraph's list of the Funniest Jokes of the Fringe. The full special was released on YouTube in June 2025.

He is the co-creator and star of Comedy Therapy, a live show and podcast blending humor and mental health, which became a box-office success and charted as the #3 podcast in Portugal.

He was featured in the BBC World Service Arts Hour Comedy Special (2024), and previously co-wrote and co-starred in a global ad campaign for crypto giants Bybit alongside Formula 1 champions Max Verstappen and Sergio "Checo" Perez.

Currently based in New York City, André can be regularly seen on stage at a number of iconic clubs including the Comedy Cellar where he's the first Portuguese comedian, and amongst a select group of Europeans, to become a regular at the club.

In his second hour of stand-up, André de Freitas’s at that weird time in life where you’re meant to become an adult. Your parents become people, relationships get complicated, and nothing feels black and white anymore.

A coming-of-age show about family, love, ambition, and breakups, it explores the quiet dilemmas of adulthood: old friendships, complicated breakups, and the uncomfortable gap between being an adult and feeling like one.
