The Africa Centre

With a rich legacy stretching over six decades, The Africa Centre is a UK-based charity that celebrates the diversity of Africa and its diaspora, by promoting creativity and innovation in African thought, art, culture, business and entrepreneurship. We are proud of our past and passionate about our future. Our vision is of a contemporary Africa – vibrant, global and seated at the table. Our central aim is to become the most welcoming cultural hub in London. We are about to undertake a major capital re-development of our four-storey Southwark home, to create an Africa Centre for the 21st Century. Our activities include: • a rich programme of exhibitions, talks, film screenings, book launches, spoken word, music, language classes • venue hire • co-working space for entrepreneurs
