About

06.06.2024 / 19:00 - 00:00

On Thursday 6th of June, our arts programme Futur.Shock concludes its psychologically & politically charged third season, ‘Another Day of Gravity’

Through movement, immersive musical experiments, erotic films, opera, talks and performance art; Season Three, “Another Day of Gravity” has explored and enacted forms of protest, attempting a confrontation with the ever-evolving overwhelming state of our current cultural, political, and psychological crisis.

“Violent Dreams” promises another perceptual existential experience. We welcome boundary-pushing artist Haroon Mirza, whose adisciplinary practice delves into the interplay between sound, light, and electric current. Mirza's performances and installations challenge conventional notions of reality, inviting audiences to reconsider their perceptions and beliefs. For this Chapter he will perform “Self-transforming Machine Elves”, which will be performed on the ‘NDE Machine’, an instrument Mirza has made himself.

Joining Mirza is Authentically Plastic, a dynamic DJ, Producer, and artist hailing from Kampala, Uganda. Their politically charged soundscapes reflect the tumultuous social climate of Uganda, blending genres like Gqom, Noise, and Techno with influences from Northern Ugandan rhythms and Afro-futurism. They will be performing an audio-visual live-set with visuals by Tobias Raschbacher.

Also taking the stage is AD54, a new London-based experimental music project that defies genre classifications with its unique blend of warm tones, gritty synths, and hypnotic sampling. AD54 forges a unique sound that transcends genre.

Back by popular demand, Kinn returns with their contemporary electronic style, with an all new music live performance, live instruments and cutting-edge sound design. Their music combines creative ambition with a tongue-in-cheek 'dread-voyeurism,' revealing a genuine vulnerability beneath its dynamic and intricate layers.

A special musical guest will weave the event together by Djing throughout the night and with a full set for the last hour.

Each artists work delves into themes of collective melancholy and existentialism, offering a sonic protest against the overwhelming complexities of modern society.

"Violent Dreams" aims to disrupt the psyche and provoke perception. Through a combination of live performances, immersive installations, and thought-provoking visuals, attendees will embark on a journey into the depths of the subconscious mind.
