Swan Lake comes to the London Coliseum in a new production from the internationally acclaimed State Ballet of Georgia. After their sold-out London season in 2024, the production premieres at the Tbilisi Opera House before arriving in London for 12 performances this July.
From the first bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, this ballet tells the story of Prince Siegfried, the Swan Queen Odette and their struggle against the evil sorcerer Rothbart. It is staged as a lavish version of ballet’s best-known love story, with the State Ballet of Georgia bringing tradition, dancing, sets and costumes together in a single production.
Under the artistic direction of Nina Ananiashvili, former prima ballerina with the Bolshoi, the company presents the work with power, precision and emotional depth. The dancers have been described by The New York Times as “versatile and accomplished”.
