La Rumba: O'Flynn [Wire Closing Parties]
Music Genres
Tickets available on Resident Advisor
Saturday May 4th sees La Rumba back in Leeds after a 15-month break with one of the UK's favourite and most exciting talents, O'Flynn, and Sheffield's favourite Nu-Disco House crews, Fortythree, at Wire before the venue's permanent closure in June.
O'Flynn is an artist whose musical style and energy as a DJ resonates so closely with La Rumba's that it's no surprise that this is our fifth time hosting him. Hailed by Boiler Room as “one of dance music’s most prosperous newcomers”, O’Flynn’s afrocentric, percussion-heavy style has been backed by the likes of Four Tet, Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, James Blake, and Hessle Audio. Classics like ‘Tyrion’, ‘Desmond’s Empire’ and ‘Tru Dancing’ have shown O’Flynn’s diverse ability of creating anything from club-ready weapons to peak-time summer bangers.
