Menagerie was fantastic and I'll definitely be back. Really loved the energy and everyone was so kind and welcoming and great to talk to!  Staff did a great job of holding the space. Would have preferred quieter background music as it made it hard to socialise at times and would get a little overstimulating, but found it much better in this regard than other similar events. 

Problems were with the venue rather than the organisation. Bouncers kept refusing entry to people with tickets and didn't seem to know that the event was even on. Only got in because a kind person attending a different event saw what was happening and knew the right words to say to get them to understand. The venue rooms were nice, though it wasn't clear in advance that the whole event would be upstairs which would be good to know for accessibility.

Review of Menagerie May Social

It was my first time and it was a such a friendly vibe. I guess everyone there knows what it's like to be misunderstood with our common interests so everyone is excited to discuss and make friends. There were many who haven't been to the Play Party so it was nice to know I wasn't alone in this. I think a few more varied ice breakers are required though.

We turned up at the venue having paid for tickets expecting there to be lots of people at the event considering we turned up later than the start time. We got there and our tickets were not checked, meaning we spent money to go to an event in which other people could just stroll in for free. Although the event could have been good if more people had been there it is very disappointing we paid money and it seemed for nothing.
