About

The show will have an inclusive theme, with the return of Clive Bruder from the ‘We Sew Too’ movement representing that crafting is for all. On Saturday 16th March a fully inclusive catwalk show for sewers will take place offering a celebration of creativity, talent, and diversity within the sewing community. This show is designed to showcase the incredible skills and craftsmanship of sewers from all walks of life, irrespective of age, gender, body type, or level of experience.

Plus there will be the chance to catch up with previous contestants from the Great British Sewing Bee in the Juki area.

In Fashion & Embroidery we welcome back the Royal School of Needlework and the Embroiderers Guild, plus there will be fabulous galleries from award-winning artists including David Morrish – Kingfly (as featured on TV in ‘Make it at Market’) with his beautiful contemporary digital embroidered art, Hilary Beattie’s Tulip Mania, LauraKemshall’s ‘Everything we Are’ and Aran Illingworth ‘I’m not Invisible’.

From dressmaking to quilting, macramé, embroidery and needle felting, visitors can get involved with demonstrations and bookable in-advance workshops offering the chance to try something completely different or extend their skills with specialist artists and crafters.

Filled with all the latest stitching supplies, fabrics, yarns, patterns and threads, Sewing for Pleasure and sister show Fashion & Embroidery, is the destination for needlework beginners and experts alike.

Talents from across the country will be showcased through the Madeira embroidery competition with the theme of ‘Visions of Paris’ and the Schools fashion competition with the theme of ‘For the love of Vivienne’, which has its own catwalk andwill be judged at the show on Friday 15th March.

The Creative Craft show is a haven for paper crafting, art materials, jewellery, ribbons, and other hard crafts including willow weaving, pottery, mosaic and printing demonstrations, so there are plenty of opportunities to gain advice from industry experts, as well as the chance to try something new. From silver clay to marquetry, quilling and needle punch workshops, the show is packed with every type of craft only limited by imagination.
