Josephine Foster is touring the UK and Europe and stopping in for her first ever gig at The Carlton Club. Expect to hear Americana/Alt-Folk/Gospel-esque Lullabies turned on their head as Josephine delivers a blend of genres in her own inimitable style. Josephine, a former opera student, is “known to breathe new life into archaic forms, embodying the cultural archaeology of Harry Smith’s old weird America, and has lent her characteristic mezzo-soprano and interpretive wit to over two decades of recordings.” Support comes from Mike Wilson who, himself, has a decades-long history of intertwining his style with UK psych-folk to conjure up gently deranging sea-shanties worthy of a young David Bowie amongst other styles. The "DJ's DJ" Rob Bright will provide sounds throughout the evening.
