Went to Manchester to watch Giggs show at one central. Wasn't allowed in due to my shoes :/ they was black n yellow. Some geezer was let straight in with gold and leopard print shows ffs!!! Now I gotta try n get my money back from the promoters :/! Booked time off work for nothing :(! Cost me alot to organise transport home for 5am aswell :(. Can anyone please sort this out? Giggs is my favourite and me and 3 o my mates wernt even allowed in the club :(!! We payed to watch giggs £15 each and then got refused entry :( total bull****!! Still rated the music awesome coz giggs you know :) can't flaw that.

Where do I start? The organisation and running of JAM @ One Central was abysmal. A group of friends and myself arrived at the club for 11pm, however, it wasn't until 1:10am that the line started to move and we were allowed into the club. Why? I don't know. My only regret is that we didn't choose somewhere else to celebrate the New Year as we were left to celebrate on the street, outside the club, despite having purchased our tickets in advance.

During the course of waiting for over TWO HOURS in the cold, we did go and ask security what was the hold up, but to be honest, I don't even think they knew. They seemed to be allowing others into the club from another line on the side.

Once we were given entry, our card we used to buy our tickets online was checked off on the list and a quick bag check and we entered the club. No effort was made to check on the age of any of us.

The club was pretty spacious and they had a stage which was cool to dance on, however my next gripe was with the music. The DJ (who seemed to be REALLY feeling the music with a number of fist pumps) predominately played electro music throughout the night. I was disappointed as one of the reasons we choose this club was because of the selection (the word 'selection' emphasised) of music advertised for the night on the skiddle booking page. For the time we remained in the club, there was no Afro Jams played, and a small section of bashment, hip hop etc. It seemed every song was cut by the DJ after playing for 15 seconds. In the end, a few of us sat down until we exited the club.

Nice interior, however complete and utter disorganisation and communication ruined the event. Needless to say, I won't be returning again.

Omnishambles

I do not know if too many tickets were sold or whether the organisers were amateurs but I counted in the New Year in the queue with other would be party goers for JAM @ One Central.

I bought my advance ticket for 15 pounds and arrived between 11pm and 11.15 thinking that would be enough time to queue and go through security before midnight. No. The queue was pretty much at a standstill, I did not know whether my ticket was still valid and there was clearly not enough security staff inspecting bags and ID, which is ridiculous considering how busy one would expect the night to be. Instead, I queued until nearly 1am in the glorious Manchester weather (thank God I brought a coat and scarf) before I had enough and sold my ticket to someone at the front of the queue.

Would I recommend... no. I chose 'this' event over my family, a warm home and plenty of food and drink. Fail.

Disappointing, to say the least....

Lets start at the beginning. After purchasing our Advanced tickets- which we assumed would guarantee entry as our tickets didn't stipulate otherwise, we arrived at One Central at 11.15pm, allowing plenty of time to enter the venue before the countdown, one would assume. We were incorrect.
It would not have been as frustrating waiting for the hour and 15 minutes that we did, had we been updated as to why we were waiting. It was evident after a few minutes that no-one in the queue was allowed to enter (possibly due to overcapacity, but who knows!!!) Our tickets clearly stated valid till 12am, hence why we arrived with 45 minutes to spare, but they neglected to inform us that by 1am we would still be waiting in the freezing cold.
To make matters worse, people who had arrived earlier (without tickets) were allowed to pay on the door, yet those of us who were organised enough to purchase tickets in advance, through this website, were neglected.
There was clearly not enough staff on the night, which is a difficult concept to fathom, as everyone who purchased a ticket paid between £15-30 for entry. Surely this is enough to pay for the staff to cover the demand.
From outside, it seemed that the event was extremely disorganised for a new years eve.
I will not be returning to the event or venue in the near future, nor do I recommend it.
In the end, we sold our tickets to 3 people waiting by the door, ironically, they were permitted entry straight away and those in the queue still had to wait.
It felt like a money scam, if I'm honest. I would have rated zero had the website allowed.

Dj Silva bday bash @ Prestige Glamour One Central mcr was a sellout

Wow all I can say about lastnight is that Dj Silva's birthday bash's are defianetly not a event you ever want to miss!! The Team Shellingz dj's really put their names on the down in the history books for entertaining the crowd and sending them into a frenzy allnight from 10pm-5am and even then people didn't want it to end. Thw club was packed from 11:30pm so that tells you how good off a night it was. Massive shout to all the people who was celebrating their bdays/graduation and got cakes also big shout out to the girl who won the bottle of Nuvo in the dance comp. Weird atmosphere

My friends and I all agree that the atmosphere was really strange. Music was great but wasn't really busy. More of the older scene than 18-25s. Nothing to brag about. Wouldn't go back.

they will not let you in if your black full stop! it don t matter how dress up you are,the door men are Asians and half-cast,very racist people,simple advise if you are black stay away from one central club!

From a guy who has been from Jamaica to Jersey (NY),Canada to Cardiff (Wales)DJ Jon Busstop has to be the best DJ me and my boys have ever heard.Next time i go to a night he is DJing he will be getting a big drink from me.We danced all night with a great crowd of people.We tend to go to soul nights,old school,r&b and hip hop nights all over the place,but none of the DJ's get close to Jon.Quite frankly he should be working in the "superstar dj" bracket as most of them are cat.

I have to say firstly that I never ventured to the rear of the club to check out the facilities and atmosphere there, so there may have been a dancefloor there and I may be talking rubbish, but I have to say that I was gob-smacked at the comeplete and utter lack of dancing here, for a Funk club!

There was an area which looked like it might be a dancefloor near the bar, but until 11.30 it was empty- then from 12.00ish it was packed with people standing around drinking- why the heck do so many people go to a funk night and refuse to move?? The only time the crowd livened up was when CHART MUSIC came on (Maddona, Blondie...)- even then there wasn't anywhere in the front half of the club designated for dancing- why not?!

I was also very disapointed by the music- a mix of OK funk and bland pop (Barry White for goodness sake!) with FAR too little quality Soul or RnB (one Aretha track and one Sam & Dave isn't enough of either genre!)

The prices are good- but then you get what you pay for and the staff are good- quick and friendly service at the bar and the door, but I wont be going again I'm afraid and it makes me sad to say so.
