Leeds Christmas Lights

When: Thursday 10th November 2011, from 6.45pm

Where: Victoria Gardens (outside Leeds Art Gallery), The Headrow

X Factor singer Matt Cardle will switch on Leeds' Christmas lights on Thursday 10th November 2011.

Around 20,000 people are expected to flock to the free event, which will be held as usual in Victoria Gardens on the Headrow.

Leeds City Council’s executive member for leisure, Coun Adam Ogilvie, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Matt Cardle to Leeds for our lights switch-on.

“He is sure to put on a great performance and along with our other guests will make for a fantastic show to get the Christmas party started in Leeds.”

Entertainment on the night is due to begin at 6.45pm and will conclude with a dazzling fireworks display.
