Manchester Music for Gaza launchesits first event to raise funds and awareness of the ongoing situation in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

The day will be packed with incredible live music and some of the country’s best DJs, plus poets, speakers, and family activities, with great food and drink.

All proceeds will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), an organisation that works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP provides immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

Live music from Reem Anbar, Gnawa Manchester, Heavy Salad, Seaming To, Toolshed (from 808’s Graham Massey), Tom Sharkett (WH Lung) + Modema, Quincey May Brown and more to be confirmed.

DJs Kath McDermott, James “Boggy” Holroyd, Andy Votel, Rob Bright, Abigail Ward, Aficionado DJs plus members of Doves & Django Django.

Speakers include Maxine Peake, Basma Ghalayini - Comma Press, Dr Miz Abbas - Health Care Workers for Palestine, Dr Suesanne Samara - Health Care Workers for Palestine, Rashed Khan - Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, Mike Reed - Amnesty Manchester.

Family activities includeprotest banner making with artist Lou Miller, “Birds of Resistance” creation and badge making with Julia from Wonderhaus, sashiko stitch workshop with Mia Nisbet, Lego building, games, a play parachute and a bouncy castle.
