About

The Midcounties Co-operative is hosting the Fairer Living Festival, a unique family festival, to bring together like-minded social enterprises and individuals who are passionate about building a fairer, more sustainable, and ethical future.

Located at Walsall Football Club on the 11th May from 10am – 3pm, the free event will include a host of fun family activities and entertainment including live music from local artists, cooking demonstrations, circus entertainment, face painting, swap shops and crafting workshops.

The Society’s Annual General Meeting will also take place for Members at the festival from 10am – 12pm, discussing the annual performance, showcasing the support for local communities throughout the year, revealing future growth plans and an opportunity for Members to vote on key Society matters.

The festival also offers the chance to meet local community groups and charities such as Alz Café, Black Country Women’s Aid, Garden Organics and Bloxwich Community Partnership to learn more about what they do, get career advice and support in overcoming barriers to employment from experts including Steps to Work, Walsall College, Job Centre Plus and The Fairer Futures Programme.

The Midcounties Co-operative is fully owned by its 645,000 members and operates the Your Co-op family of businesses, including more than 230 Your Co-op Food stores across the West Midlands, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. They also trade nationally through Your Co-op Travel, Your Co-op Childcare, Your Co-op Energy and Your Co-op Broadband and Mobile businesses.
