STS Lord Nelson

Seafarers UK – the leading charity for seafarers in need – is seeking 30 fearless individuals who want to literally climb on board the tall ship Lord Nelson on Nautical Friday, 29 June, the charity’s national fundraising day. By kind permission of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, 30 brave individuals will ascend using ropes and ladders to reach the top of the mast at 130 feet, where they will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Port of Southampton and the Solent. Richard Holland who is taking part in the event said: “Living in Felixstowe alongside the UK’s largest container port and knowing the needs of seafarers met by our local Seafarers Centre Mission, the chance for me to fulfill a lifetime ambition to climb the rigging of a tall ship and raise money for Seafarers UK, was just too good an opportunity to be missed”
