Steve Rice has been buying and playing records since the 1960s and has always had an involvement with Reggae Muzik in the UK.

Starting with blues parties in London, Steve has played all across the world at various events, festivals and dances. He now resides in Bristol UK where he holds frequent sessions with his vintage 'Downbeat Melody' sound system. 

Steve runs regular sessions in Bristol and has been joined by legends like Gladdy Wax and Musclehead (Saxon Sound) as well as fostering new talent in the city.

When Steve came to play for Richard Smith & DJ Algie's  'Skank & Boogie' night (held every 3 months in the SADACCA bar) he was an absolute hit, people wouldn't let him leave! So we thought it was only right to bring him back, in a PROPER style n fashion...
