An Afternoon with Leeds United's Ian Harte

After the success of last year's event Brian Deane we are delighted to announce that this year's guest speaker is Ian Harte! 

An Afternoon with Ian Harte at Scholars Bar on Sunday 9 June 2024 will see the former Ireland international discuss his career highlights, the highs and lows of his time at Leeds United, stories of his time with the Irish national squad and life as an agent looking after the likes of former Leeds winger Jack Clarke. 

Harte rose through the ranks at Leeds United, making his debut in 1996. His peak years with the club occurred during the late 1990s and early 2000s, playing a crucial role in Leeds' memorable UEFA Champions League campaign in the 2000-2001 season, reaching the semi-finals. 

His left foot was renowned for its precision in delivering crosses and set-pieces, earning him a reputation as one of the best free-kick takers in the Premier League. 

After leaving Leeds in 2004, Harte continued his career with various clubs, including Levante in Spain and winning promotion to the Premier League with both Reading and Bournemouth.

The event is being hosted by local Leeds United Supporters group the Scarborough Whites and will be hosted by compere and comedian Pete Emmett.
