Get ready for a night of raw garage, psych, punk and fuzz - Sour Grapes Records, Manchester's DIY label known for pushing the underground sound and putting artists first, takes over The Snug for one killer lineup.
Headlining the night are Ahmed &amp; The Romans, whose experimental, off-kilter psych rock and politically charged lyricism have earned them a cult following and frequent releases on the label.
Supporting them are Dead Stilettos, a gritty Manchester outfit rising in the DIY punk/garage scene with raw energy and big riffs. Also on the bill: Dachshund, one of Sour Grapes' newer signee bands bringing psych-garage grooves.
Expect vibrant sets, underground attitude, and a night for true music lovers.

Excellent showcase from the Sour Grapes label with 3 bands with slightly different variations of a somewhat grunge, punk sound with hard driving rhythms and energy in abundance. Dead Stiletto's  were the pick of the bunch for me with a sound influenced by The Fall, Dead Kennedys, Beastie Boys with a psychedelic tip with swirling synths and subtle Saxophone at times. Merchandise was on sale so the Mrs picked up an T Shirt and I picked up an 7" single on thick clear red vinyl limited edition of Dead Stilettos latest release, and the singer threw in some stickers and a pin badge.  All the  bands were engaging afterwards mixing with everybody with no attitude and down to earth. At £9 it was a pure steal for three quality bands which is affordable and accessible for everybody, and is promoting local talent and the record label so what's not to like. The Snug is a very homely, compact venue with more than friendly staff, very organised and professional so they get a 10 out of 10 gold star review.
If you are looking for all of the above for a night of live music, fun and friendliness this is the place  to be and you won't be disappointed, so go to their website and check out what's going on. If you are after a chilled and relaxing or Sunday afternoon, on the last Sunday of every month the snug does an all vinyl afternoon of local DJ's (12 till 5pm),entertaining everybody with chilled sounds and rhythms for all tastes. The event is sponsored by Brandon from Sticky Black Tarmac records who brings a pop up shop of selected vinyl from his shop to browse and buy at very reasonable prices. If you are a vinyl/music head like me you won't be disappointed so get down there for a night of live music or a Sunday afternoon chill out session with like minded people. During the day the snug operates as a vegan cafe with a an excellent selection of food and drink on offer for even more community value.
