Dense. Juicy. Pungent. Sharp. Tangy. Buttery. Crisp. Umami! The vocabulary we use to describe what we eat is as rich and varied as the food itself, and food writing can often be an intimidating world of specialist knowledge, obscure ingredients, and esoteric adjectives.
The Portico Kitchen Food Writing Workshop is here to help demystify the process of translating taste into words by taking the whole thing back to the basics of eating food and writing about it. Join writer and Portico Kitchen manager Joe Fenn for an afternoon of reading, writing, and eating, including blind tasting, ‘guess the dish’ games, and a host of fun creative exercises.
All levels of experience welcome.
Price includes all workshop food and a soft drink.
We will do our best to accommodate dietary requirements where we can, however, due to the nature of this event this may not always be possible. If you have any specialist dietary requirements, please send an enquiry to kitchen@theportico.org.uk before booking.
