About

Broken Wing Club - long‑standing champions of South Manchester's grassroots music culture - proudly present a landmark moment for the area: the legendary Tony Christie performs a 20 minutes acoustic Pa set. Tony sings his most well loved songs including ‘is this the way to Amarillo’, ‘Avenues & Alleyways’ & ‘Walk like a panther’.

support comes from local favourites Delbhoy Kennedy & Spin Klass.

For a community built on passion, graft, and genuine love for live music, hosting an artist of Tony Christie's stature is nothing short of extraordinary.

Across a remarkable career spanning six decades, he has sold millions of records worldwide, delivered timeless hits like Is This the Way to Amarillo, Avenues and Alleyways and Las Vegas, and collaborated with icons ranging from Peter Kay to Richard Hawley. His voice, his catalogue, and his legacy have travelled the world - and now he's bringing that magic to Northenden for a rare, up‑close daytime apperance/performance, taking the stage at 6pm.

This event is another huge milestone in Broken Wing Club's mission to elevate the local scene. Since launching the Northenden Fringe Festival - now reimagined as FOR THE PEOPLE - the team have staged over 300 artists in the area, from rising local talent to national gems like Peter Doherty, Tom Meighan (Kasabian), Badly Drawn Boy, Pastel, and many more. With major festival moments at Wythenshawe Park featuring The Cure, Pulp, Lewis Capaldi, The Courteeners, The Prodigy, the momentum is undeniable.
