About

Marking its 39th year, the Ealing Blues Festival returns to Walpole Park - celebrating the borough's pivotal role in shaping British blues and tracing the roots of a sound that changed music forever.

Saturday on The Hokum is programmed in partnership with the legendary Ealing Club, the venue widely regarded as the birthplace of British blues. Headlining is Robert Finley - the Louisiana-born singer whose thunderous voice and electrifying stage presence have earned him a place among the last true blues greats. He is joined by Kyla Brox and more. In the Big Top, PRB Presents bring a contemporary edge with Bob Log III's cult one-man-band show, Oh! Gunquit and Robin Evans Esq.

Sunday is programmed in collaboration with the London International Ska Festival, exploring how rhythm and blues travelled across the Atlantic to shape Jamaican music, ska and reggae. Misty in Roots headline The Hokum for a special homecoming show marking their 50th anniversary, joined by Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Jimmy Regal & The Royals, The Filthy Six and Phoenix City All Stars performing their critically acclaimed album Skatisfaction in full. In the Big Top, The Mighty Ruler Sound System holds it down between sets, with Jerry Dammers (The Specials / 2 Tone Records) playing a special DJ set.
