About

About Hamilton

Hamilton is the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of the America we know today. With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the show tells that story through a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway.

Based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton, the production is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. It presents the story of America then as told by America now.

Key facts: Runs for 2 hours 45 minutes, including a 15 minute interval.
