Nothing but the music was South African....at times!
One braai with boerewors only, no chicken, chops, salad, and no South African drinks at all. The terrace garden was shut so everyone stuck indoors with no sun! Kak.

Review of Beats & Braai - Freedom Day Celebration

Event was closed to entry at least an hour before it's finish time.

There was no last entry time on the tick*ts, so what a waste of money

On arrival they was no space to seat and we went upstairs to the roof garden and they was no music just people talking was disappointed.  And the price of sausages roll was disgusting only sausages with no chips that was rip-off.  The venue was so cramped.  The disco was old songs very disappointed.

I was really disappointed with this event. Starting with the advertisement, just because you put a jumping castle and a face painter in a night club, does not make it child friendly.  The fact and the kids water was poured out at the entrance, says it all. I  sat in a dark room watching my kids, secluded from everyone, I felt quite depressed. I, like it seemed many others, were fooled by the name of the venue, thinking it was a garden / outdoor event. We were all very disappointed sitting in this 'club', when the weather was so great outside. Nothing about this event felt South African or like a celebration of human rights day.
The setup was awkward and very separated. The music entertainment was terrible. The sausages were hard, the koeksisters were soft and both not enjoyable. The chakalaka sauce and biltong at least was good. All in all it was an embarrassing event to bring friends, with the expectation of having a great day out experiencing SA culture. So disappointed and really annoyed that we spent a long commute to get there and wasted a sunny day out with my kids.
